How to Properly Wash Your Hair

by Nishan Satyal

Mastering the fundamentals of shampooing and conditioning is paramount for building the foundation of any successful hairstyle. While the process may appear straightforward, employing proper technique is crucial. We consulted a Mielle hair expert for her top tips and tricks on hair washing, specifically utilizing our best-selling Rosemary Mint collection, renowned for promoting stronger, healthier-looking hair.

The Rosemary Mint collection is suitable for all hair types, excelling particularly when the goal is to strengthen and moisturize in one comprehensive step. Rosemary is a highly cherished ingredient due to its ability to stimulate hair follicles and its potent antioxidant properties. Similarly, mint works to invigorate hair follicles by enhancing blood circulation on the scalp.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to an effective hair washing routine:

  • Step 1: Pre-Soak Hair Thoroughly
Before you apply any product, make sure your hair is fully saturated with water.

  • Step 2: First Shampoo Application
Next, apply Rosemary Mint strengthening shampoo all over your hair, making sure to concentrate on the scalp. You want to scrub thoroughly but not roughly.

  • Step 3: Rinse Thoroughly
Once clean, rinse shampoo from scalp thoroughly to make sure there’s no product left behind.

  • Step 4: Second Shampoo for Deep Cleanse
Follow up with a second shampoo to make sure any oils and products have been thoroughly removed from your scalp and hair

  • Step 5: Condition and Detangle
Apply Rosemary Mint Strengthening Conditioner from root to tip. Make sure to coat each strand. This is also the step when you’ll detangle. Use a wide tooth comb to avoid unnecessary breakage

  • Step 6: Condition Dwell Time and Final Rinse
Let the conditioner sit for five to ten minutes before rinsing the conditioner out completely.

By diligently following these steps, you will ensure a successful wash day, setting yourself up for consistently healthy and beautifully styled hair.
